From New Zealand to Australia, China, Russia, France, Germany and Singapore. Having invented the world’s first commercial Bungy Jump in New Zealand, the international network of AJ Hackett branded Bungy Jump, Swing and Zipride attractions continues to grow. And just like having the world’s most famous Swing, and the world’s first human Catapult, the innovations and world records keep on coming. Some years ago the original founders of AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand, Henry Van Asch and AJ Hackett, separated their business interests but maintained their close relationship through a brand sharing agreement. Henry’s company AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand, the parent of Bungy New Zealand Ventures, operates all sites in New Zealand. Current international sites are operated by AJ’s company AJ Hackett International.

In New Zealand there have been over five million participants across our products: delivered with a 100% safety record. Over the past 35 years we have pioneered multiple adventure tourism activities, including: Bungy Jump, Swing, Walk, Climb, Catapult and Zipride.

Innovation

For each project we try to develop either new experiences or the next generation of proven attractions to create key points of difference that will drive customer interest and engagement. Over the years we have led the industry in inventing mechanical devices and technologies that enhance excitement and safety.
THE CATAPULT
The mechanical components for the world's biggest human catapult allowing customers to be fired out at speeds reaching 100 kilometres per hour in 1.5 seconds
BUNGY RETRIEVAL SYSTEM
A unique proprietary mechanical system that allows a Bungy Jumper to be retrieved to the platform jumped from rather than the ground below
ZIPRIDE RETURN SYSTEM
The world's first mechanical system that allows a Ziprider to be returned to be rotated 180 degrees and returned to the starting point without leaving the ride
SKYJUMP MACHINE
Invented by an associate company Jump Technics, the machine is a controlled descent device used in the operation of the Skyjump attractions at SkyCity Auckland and Stratosphere Las Vegas for which Bungy New Zealand Ventures has marketing rights.
