Bungy New Zealand Ventures is the subsidiary of AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand through which we provide consulting advice and master planning for opportunities in markets outside New Zealand. 35 years ago, the Group founders invented commercial Bungy and established the world’s first site at the Kawarau River in Queenstown. The world’s first jetboating attraction (the jetboat was invented by a New Zealander) was opened on the same river.
On the back of these two pioneering enterprises, Queenstown has grown from a population of 3,500 with a small number of domestic visitors per year, into a city of over 50,000 renowned worldwide as the world’s adventure tourism capital, with over 2 million visitors per annum. More than half of these are international tourists.
In Queenstown, AJ Hackett Bungy New Zealand operates three sites offering Bungy, Ziprides, a Giant Swing, and the world’s first Human Catapult. Adventure tourism operations established alongside Bungy New Zealand’s sites now include skiing, skydiving, paragliding, mountain climbing and biking, ballooning, whitewater rafting, and many others. This has given us a depth of knowledge across the breadth of adventure activities.
Many consultants in our space either have little operating experience or are specialists in a single activity. If you are seeking master planning advice on how to successfully create an adventure tourism destination, contact Bungy New Zealand Ventures. We are uniquely qualified and knowledgeable across multiple experiences, having been a prime mover in the transformation of our own place.
